GCONS offers ND/HND Nursing program which prepares an undergraduate student for a career as a Registered Nurse.

ND/HND Midwifery

GCONS offers ND/HND Midwifery program which prepares an undergraduate student for a career as a Registered Midwife Nurse.

Admission Requirements

  1. Academic Qualifications: Possess a minimum of 5 credit-level passes in the following subjects:
    – English Language
    – Mathematics
    – Biology
    – Chemistry
    – Physics

    These credits must be obtained from WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or similar/equivalent examinations, taken at no more than 2 sittings.

    Pending Results: Students awaiting WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB results are eligible to apply, but must present their results before the matriculation date.

    Important Notes:

    – WAEC and NECO results can be combined.
    – NABTEB results cannot be combined with WAEC or NECO.

  2. Age: Applicants must be at least 16 years old by December 31, 2024. 

  3. Soft copy of O’level result(s) (to be uploaded to the system.
  4. Soft copy of passport photograph (to be uploaded to the system).
  5. ATM card or online transfer of application fee.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Yes, the school is accredited by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN). Accredited in September 2024.

 Its located at Okpokoro, 9th Mile Corner, Enugu.

No, we are not using JAMB/UTME this year but will do so from next year.

Yes, there will be an entrance exam. Dates and venue will be communicated to all applicants.

The examination dates for Nursing and that of Midwifery will be on different dates so as to accommodate candidates who may have applied to both programmes. 

Important Note: Nursing and Midwifery are two independent departments. Candidates interested in applying to both programs must:

1. Submit two separate application forms.
2. Make two separate payment transactions for the applications.

This ensures accurate processing.

We offer a 4-year programme in Basic Nursing, leading to the award of an ND/HND diploma. We also offer a 4-year programme in Basic Midwifery, leading to the award of ND/HND degree.

No, we do not offer post-basic nursing or post-basic midwifery at this time. But this may change in the near future as we intend to expand to other programmes.

Yes, one can apply separately to basic Nursing and basic midwifery. The exams for the two different programmes will be on different dates. Note that assessment of candidates for each of the two programmes are completely independent. In other words, a student who applies to both basic nursing and basic midwifery will be assessed for basic nursing by a panel that will be unaware the same candidate will be assessed by another panel for basic midwifery. In a situation where such a candidate gets accepted by both departments, he/she will have to accept only one of the two programmes.

The college does not accept cash payments for any of its services. DO NOT pay cash to anyone. Anyone asking you to pay cash should be reported to the college authorities.

We do not use agents. You either complete the applications online (including payments) or you go to a the college’s premises or the liaison office.

Admissions are strictly based on your performance in the entrance exam and oral interview. Anyone asking you for payments outside of the official application fees is out to dupe you and should be reported to the college’s management.

No, we do not offer community nursing or community midwifery at this time. We offer only basic nursing and basic midwifery programmes. This may change in the near future as we intend to expand to many other programs.
